It's 2014 and Obamacare has landed. GOOD LUCK. WE'RE ALL GOING TO NEED IT!!!!!!!!!!!! THE ROCKY START DOES NOT BODE WELL FOR THE FUTURE. OBVIOUSLY, PEOPLE'S HEALTH WAS LESS AT STAKE THAN POLITICAL CONTROL WHICH IS NOW WITHIN THE GRASP OF THE FOLKS WHO WANT AMERICA'S RICHES FOR THEMSELVES!!!!!!!!!!!!
ENOUGH ON A SUBJECT THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED! THE TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGES FACING AMERICA, AS CHANGE OFTEN DOES, BROUGHT THE RAT IN WITH THE CAT.
I received an email awhile back from a friend about things that are predicted to disappear as we proceed into the age of technology. It is a list of nine to which I'm sure many others will be added: the post-office, checks, the newspaper, books, land line telephones, the music industry, television, owning "whatever", and privacy.
We've heard much about the Post-office and newspapers and their losses and currently we've been introduced the idea of no more checking accounts as England prepares to do away with checks by 2018 and replace it with plastic cards and online transactions. Big year for thieves and loss of privacy!This also will help destroy what's left of the post office.
Loss of the books has been well under way for some time as we welcome readers and e-books . I have been part of this loss for some time with two e-book novels "Absolute Power!" and my recent publication of "The Drone Solution". It has made publishing both easier and more difficult as we struggle with a technology we weren't prepared to confront!
The demise of land line telephones began at the start of cell phones and nostalgia and the fax have maintained what's left and who knows how long that will be feasible. But the music industry is more recent and surprising. And so is the reason-- the lack of innovation in the music industry that has been stamped out by corruption plus greed. The author of the email cites "Appetite for Self-Destruction" (no it's not about OBAMACARE!!!!!!!) by Steve Knopper and a video documentary, "Before the Music Dies." Of course, as technology goes, both are ONLINE!!!!!!!!
We're also aware of TVs decline and considering the programming, it's going fast!!!!!!!! Netflix movies and online TV are now the replacements.
The family no long gathers ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!! FAMILY???????? DO I HAVE A CLUE WHAT THEY'RE DOING?????????
I have been loud and vocal in my complaints about ADOBE'S UNCARING ATTITUDES TOWARD THEIR PRODUCTS BUT NOW THAT ATTITUDE TOWARD "YOU" HAS SURFACED BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!! THE "CLOUDS" THEY INVENTED TO STORE YOUR STUFF IS SET TO GO BIG TIME SO THAT YOU WON'T "OWN" ANYTHING!!!!!!! NOR HAVE ANY PRIVACY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All the computer companies are INSTALLING CLOUDS AS PART OF THE INTERNET IN ALL NEW COMPUTERS. SAVING WILL GO STRAIGHT TO THE INTERNET FOR WHICH YOU PAY A FEE TO LOSE YOUR PRIVACY!!!!!!!! IT WILL BE A VIRTUAL WORLD--SO CONVENIENT (IT SAYS SO UNTIL YOU LOSE POWER AND POSSESSIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!) SO THAT MOST THINGS WE RELY ON NOW WILL BECOME DISPOSABLE OR RELY ON A MACHINE TO CARE.
AND OF COURSE WITH ALL THAT GOES YOUR PRIVACY--WHATEVER'S REALLY LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!! ACTUALLY, WITH POLICE CAMERAS, TINY LISTENING DEVICES, AND THE NSA, CAMERAS IN FACT HAVE BECOME THE PEEPING TOMS OF THIS CENTURY AND INTO EVERYTHING TURNED OUTWARD AS WELL AS INTO YOU BOUDOIR !!!!!!!!!!!! THE AUTHORS POINT OUT THE GPS AND GOOGLE VIEWS OF YOUR HOMES AND THE TONS OF INFORMATION FED INTO MACHINES ABOUT YOUR HABITS SO THAT RETAILING CAN BE MORE SPECIFIC TO "YOUR NEEDS"????????!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE ARE SEEING THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG, FOLKS. THE CHANGES AHEAD WILL COME SWIFTLY AND A NEW WORLD WILL APPEAR ON YOUR DOORSTEP (THAT IS IF YOU STILL HAVE ONE ?????????) AND WHAT WE ARE SEEING IN AMERICA'S POLITICS TODAY IS A REFLECTION OF JUST THAT. WE MAY ACTUALLY BE LOOKING TOWARD A WORLD RUN BY MACHINES AND MAKING POLITICIANS REDUNDANT.

THE TRANSFIGURATIONAL MILLENNIUM OF TECHNOLOGY POST 172

This blogger is constantly reminded that our world is spinning faster and faster away from all that has become known and comfortable. Today, it was a visit to a medical office and a May issue of Smithsonian that brought to this blogger's attention the three dimensional machines that produce products you can actually feel and touch like sculpture. if YOU ARE TO SURVIVE THE MADNESS OF COMPLETE CHANGE, WATCH IT, PREPARE FOR IT AND ULTIMATELY YOU MUST EMBRACE IT AS THE GENERATION OF MILLENNIALS HAVE DONE. That's why they elected President Obama. Unfortunately he's disappointed them as well. ONLY SOMEONE WITH A MAGIC WAND CAN MAKE THIS CHANGE ANY EASIER AND IT WILL HAPPEN !!!!!!!!!!
In the long run in this technological society, governments may rise and fall but it is technology that will make the most changes for you and me. Those changes will come in many ways: jobs, culture, entertainment -as well as the more personal effects on clothing, food, and home. It is a change that boggles the mind, The 3-D technology among other more life affecting medical technology and gene changing are in the forefront of all that will happen in the next hundred years. But don't plan on it being a hundred years. Some of this change will happen almost overnight!!!!!!!!!!
Think back to the computer. What has happened in the last hundred years began slowly but as computer technology strengthened, changes began to happen faster and faster. It was an interesting machine prior to the introduction of the web, capable and providing much easier usage for documents and providing a world of games then WHAMO, THE WEB HAPPENED and lives were instantly broadened and many long trusted and loved fields of endeavor were rapidly changed. ART, LITERATURE, HISTORY, ENTERTAINMENT EVEN COOKING BECAME AN EXPLOSION OF KNOWLEDGE AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE. IT WAS A KALEIDOSCOPE OF JOY FOR ALL!!!!!!!!!
ARTISTS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN AMERICA CELEBRATED A RECOGNITION NEVER BEFORE ACQUIRED. IT WAS THE GLORY DAYS FOR PAINTERS, SCUPTORS, PHOTOGRAPHERS AND COMPOSERS AND MUSCIANS IN THE MID TO LAST PART OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY.
WHERE DID IT ALL GO ???????????--AND THIS IS THE DOWNSIDE OF ALL CHANGE--IT WAS QUICKLY CONSUMED AS IF A FIRE HAD OCCURRED AS THE PUBLIC MOVED ON TO OTHER NEW KNOWLEDGE THAT THE WEB- THAT MONEY MAKING ENTITY-GLADLY SPIT OUT--SOME RIGHT -- SOME WRONG BUT ALL IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO CARED.
What happened next is still going on. BOOKS BEGAN TO CHANGE AND NEW AUTHORS SPRANG UP WITHOUT PUBLISHERS BUT THROUGH SOMETHING CALLED ON LINE PUBLISHING AND THE COMPANIES GREW AND CREATED READERS WHO BOUGHT BOOKS ELECTRONICALLY AND THROUGH WEB ORIENTED COMPANIES EVEN CHANGING STANDARD BOOKSTORES INTO WEB COMPANIES TO MEET THE COMPETITION.
MEANWHILE AT THE MOVIES, BIG PRODUCTION COMPANIES FOLDED THEIR WINGS AND BEEN REPLACED BY INDEPENDENTS, THOSE REPLACED BY TELEVISION UNITS CURRENTLY UNDER SEIGE FROM INTERNET DIRECTED SHOWS AND GAMES. A RECENT POPULAR INTERNET GAME ECLIPSED A BIG MOVIE AND TV IS COMPETING WITH MILLION DOLLAR PROGRAMS JUST TO KEEP UP!!!!!!!!!! In case you haven't noticed HOLLYWOOD has been dead for some time.
Eventually, books, bookstores, movies, even TV as we know it will be a part of history AND THAT IS ONLY A MINOR PORTION OF THE VIEW FROM TECHNOLOGY. ALL BUSINESS AS WE KNOW IT WILL BE UNDER SEIGE BY CHANGE OR UNDER PRESSURE TO CHANGE !!!!!!!!!! We are now on the brink of the most major changes in history since the INDUSTRIAL AGE when the farms disappeared and modernization appeared with the factories and major production of goods. WHAT IS GOING TO CHANGE US COMPLETELY IS THAT 'LIL OLE 3-D TECHNOLOGY THAT IS JUST SCRATCHING AT THE SURFACE OF CHANGE LIKE A TINY, ANNOYING ITCH BUT THAT ITCH IS FIXIN' TO TURN INTO A FULL BLOWN RASH OF NEW PRODUCTS MADE BY NEW TECHNOLOGY BY MACHINES THAT PRODUCE CHEAPER, FASTER, AND FUNCTION AS LONERS.
WHOOPS, THERE GOES ANOTHER ROUND OF JOBS. WHOOPS, THERE GOES ANOTHER ESTABLISHED WAY TO CONDUCT LIFE!!!!!!!!!!! THAT LITTLE 'OLE' 3-D MACHINE INTRODUCED TO ALLOW FOLKS TO MAKE LITTLE THINGS AKIN TO CRAFTS IS LIKE THAT LITTLE 'OLE' COMPUTER THAT ALLOWED FOLKS TO PLAY GAMES AND PRODUCE PAPERS EASIER !!!!!!!!!! FEEL A SENSE OF DEJA VU HERE ????????????
LOOK AT THE HEALTH AND HOSPITAL INDUSTRY THAT THIS BLOGGER HOPED WOULD BE ABLE TO CHANGE IN A REASONABLE MANNER - BUT !!!!!!!!! IT'S GOING INTO MAJOR SURGERY THIS YEAR AND NO ONE KNOWS WHAT WILL RESULT !!!!!!!!!!! BUT CHANGE IT WILL -- BLEEDING OR NOT -- AND WE CAN ONLY HOPE TECHNOLOGY WILL FIND A CURE !!!!!!!!
You know as well as this blogger that just as the Industrial Age produced miracles of change and abundance so will the Technological Age BUT so will it produce those horrors that future citizens will shake their heads in wonder that all involved could have been so stupid !!!!!!!!!! IT'S A CATCH 22 ACT AND NOT EASY OR REHEARSED.
