The rantings and ravings of the over-protective in our society are getting truly ridiculous!!!!! An 85 year old woman on a walker gets strip searched at an airport; a teacher goes ballistic when a tiny student in grade school calls her "cute"! PUL..........EEEEZE!!! GIVE IT A REST!!!!!!!!!!

BE SURE NOT TO BLOW YOUR NOSE ON THE CORNER OF 5TH AND MAIN--THERE'S BOUND TO BE A LAW PASSED, OR ORDINANCE OR RULE AGAINST IT. YOU DON'T WANT TO GET ARRESTED, DO YOU????????
It has gotten that ludicrous. It was a nice thing we did--protecting our children and our grandchildren but I'm sorry I have to say, we have produced generations of TOO MANY OVER ZEALOUS, OVER-ALARMED, AND OVER-REACTIVE WIMPS!!!!!!!!!!! And the cost of all this so-called protection from harm is alarming in terms of transporation costs, local and national security costs, and government costs.

WHO TOLD US WE HAD A RIGHT TO BE TOTALLY SAFE AND SECURE????????? COME ON!!!!!!!!!!! LIFE IS CRAP SHOOT. YOU WIN SOME. YOU LOSE SOME. It is not a nice safe haven for us to traverse. IT NEVER WAS!!!!!!! WAR WAS NOT THE ONLY ISSUE OF DANGER!!!!!!!! How many folks get hit by cars, die in home-related accidents, ride their bikes to disaster and so on. There are more ways to die from THE CARELESSNESS OF OTHERS than I care to count. AND IS IT ONLY THE REALLY BAD GUYS THAT MEAN YOU HARM or could it be your HARMLESS?????? ex-lover who bears you ill-will????????? The list of what could befall you in life goes on and on. WISE UP PLEASE??????????

And speaking of danger, BLOWING YOUR NOSE ON 5TH AND MAIN may spread germs to the WHOLE COMMUNITY thereby killing off a fair number of residents. OH LORDY, WILL ANOTHER SAFEGUARD LAW BE PUT IN PLACE FOR THOSE GERMS THAT DESTROY OUR PEACE OF MIND, TAKE OUR HEALTH, AND MAKE THE OFFICIALS VERY "SNOTTY"!!!!!!

Look at it this way. Taking an airplane was always tricky. If the plane had engine trouble, DOWN YOU WENT. If the pilot was poorly trained, DOWN YOU WENT. If they forgot to put gas in the tank, DOWN YOU WENT. FLYING IN THE AIR IS A VERY RISKY BUSINESS UNLESS YOU HAVE YOUR OWN WINGS!!!!!!!!!! HOWEVER THE AIRLINES PROTECT YOUR SAFETY AS FAR AS THE AIRPLANE AND CREW CAN DO AND THAT IS REALLY ALL YOU SHOULD EXPECT.

I totally understand the paranoia developing from 9/ll and the reasoning behind all the airport precautions BUT IT HAS GONE OVER THE EDGE OF PARANOIA INTO HYSTERIA. STRIP SEARCHING A SICK 85 YEAR OLD WOMAN IS TOTALLY UNREASONABLE. AND WHAT security officials reluctantly TELL YOU (if you ask) IS THAT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THEY CAN REALLY STOP AN AIRCRAFT FROM BEING SABOTAGED OR A PASSENGER FROM DESTROYING OTHER PASSENGERS IF THEY ARE DETERMINED TO SO DO!!!!!! The only advantage is to make it difficult so that only the most committed (ie: the terrorists=the ones who caused all the extra security) will attempt it.

These OVERKILL methods simply work aS PUBLIC RELATIONS attempts at making YOU FEEL PROTECTED AND CARED ABOUT WHILE STRIP SEARCHES ABUSE YOUR SENSITIVITIES. It's the feeling that "MOMMY AND DADDY" ARE LOOKING AFTER YOU WHILE YOU PROJECT YOURSELF INTO SPACE WITH ONLY A METAL SKIN BETWEEN YOU AND EARTH!!!!!!!!!!!

I find the dichotomies in our cultures amusing as well as confusing. A person will swing off the end of a BUNGEE CORD, but whimper at the thought of being destroyed on an airplane. A person will ski down a 4000 foot slope (LOOK OUT FOR THAT OPEN CREVICE) but pales at the thought that there might be a bomb on a plane. Someone, who drives 90 MPH on open highway, cringes at the idea that a terrorist might be aboard an aircraft.

IS IT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CAUSING ONE'S OWN DEATH OR HAVING A STRANGER DO IT??????? ISN'T THE OUTCOME THE SAME EITHER WAY???????

LIFE does not come with a guarantee or even a warranty. We could wish for one but living is very dangerous. However as the old saying goes the opposite choice has no benefits! TELL YOUR KIDS, YOUR GRAND KIDS, YOUR GREAT-GRAND KIDS ETC. that life is as dangerous as driving 90MPH. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN AND DOES!!!!!!!!!

YOUNG SCHOOL TEACHERS--PLEASE NOTE--Crushes by the tiny-tiny boppers in grade school are not an unusual event. It's been going on since schools started (and before) so if one your students says "you're cute" , "you're sweet", "you're wonderful" OR even GOD FORBID, 'You're sexy". Do THE intelligent thing--CONSIDER THE SOURCE and take it as a compliment NOT ABUSE.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP BEING SCARED SHITLESS BY THE GHOSTS OF PAST TRAGEDIES OR OF EVENTS THAT MAY NEVER HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!BUCK UP. When you divide the number of bad events into the total world population even with ongoing wars in various regions, it comes out GOOD NOT BAD!!!!!!!!! WE'D ALL LIKE IT TO BE BETTER BUT THEN PERFECTION IS ALWAYS ILLUSIVE AND ALLUSIVE.

This is not a denial of the existence of predators but TELEVISION and the COMPUTER makes them grow exponentially OUT OF PROPORTION to the REAL WORLD. Those mediums affect us negatively in many areas in a disproportionate amount to actual events. Yes, THEY SHOW US TRAGEDIES but to project these into a gigantic epidemic that needs arrests for all kinds of minor sins is eroding the sense of the law.

Speaking of the law, there is a project that this blogger would like to see taken on by the Congress and THE INDIVIDUAL STATES. It is called SUNSET PROVISIONS FOR ALL LAWS. So that when we go through A MINDLESS PERIOD SUCH AS WE ARE CURRENTLY ENJOYING the laws (SILLY AND OTHERWISE)that are passed have an expiration date.

IN OTHER WORDS, when a law is passed, it is provided with a date by which it must either be renewed or fade away. There are a ridiculous number of laws and Government bills that could have benefitted from this clause. It would mean that A SILLY PROVISION THAT PUTS YOU IN JAIL FOR BLOWING YOUR NOSE AT 5th and MAIN would only last for a few years. Enough time for the population of that area to realize how SILLY THE LAW REALLY IS while retaining laws that truly benefit the citizenry.

REMEMBER, PLEASE, ONE OF THE REASONS the PILGRIMS CAME TO AMERICA in the first place was that they found the laws of England to be overwhelming, overburdening, and overzealous. They had lost their freedom to act in their own behalf because of the burden of laws supposedly designed to PROTECT THEM!!!!!!!!!! Instead of protection, they caused good citizens to be labeled CRIMINALS FOR "BLOWING THEIR NOSE AT 5Th and MAIN". If it continues to HAPPEN IN AMERICA, those pioneers might as well have stayed in England. LET'S BACK OFF BEFORE WE HAVE TO COLONIZE SPACE!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week I'm including some great thoughts in the headlines sent to me.

Well Europe's Euro is on the brink of tanking with disaster loomimng and the Socialist=(CSP=COMMUNISM=SOCIALISM=PROGRESSIVISM) answer MAY BE to create A UNITED STATES OF EUROPE. Remember some of the ideas that were just a GLEAM IN THE "intelligentsia's" EYE BECAME THE HORROR CHILDREN OF THIS CENTURY. There's a lot to be said about this and not much of it good.

First, this blogger would like to point out that most of the world'S "CSPers" but especially IN Europe have been highly CRITICAL OF THE UNITED STATES' government policies and financial systems yet IT SEEMS they can HARDLY WAIT TO EMULATE US!!!!!!!!

It would appear the DESPERATION to save Socialism includes a STRONG DESIRE to CHANGE TO all of the winning aspects of CAPITALSIM AND DENY THE EXISTENCE OF OUR SYSTEM!!!!!!!!! A reminder as well that Asia NOW has STOCK MARKETS helping to bail out their economy before the widespread poverty of the people topple the system. And a use of a stock market has made Japan rich while other Asian communities continue to explore the possibilities. Meanwhile, Europe decided to SCREW THE RICH TO FINANCE THE POOR TO EQUALIZE THE COMMMUNITY OF CITIZENS which indeed THEY DID. NOW EVERYONE IS FINANCIALLY INSECURE.

GOOD JOB DUM DUMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE CSP ANSWER may be EVEN WORSE-turn Europe into one gigantic pseudo UNITED STATES. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM AND NOT THE ONLY ONE IS THAT THE INDIVIDUAL COUNTRIES HAVE TO GIVE UP THEIR SOVEREIGNTY. What does that mean exactly. NO FREEDOM OF CHOICE. EASY ANSWER.

NOW, LET'S SEE. That means that the FRENCH CAN NO LONGER ACT LIKE FRENCHMEN. They must now be attuned to being like their neightbors, the Italians, the Spanish, the Greeks --PROVEN LOSERS, FINANCIAL LOSERS ALL. Does that disturb anyone???????? DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A RECIPE FOR CONFLICT, EVEN WAR????????

A United States of Europe?????? OK. What about the countries that don't want to go along? Maybe like ENGLAND OR GERMANY OR SWITZERLAND to name a few???????? Does that sound like a PEACEFUL SOLUTION TO WORLD AFFAIRS. DOES CONFLICT AND WAR REDUCE POVERTY OR JUST MAKE IT MORE UNLIVEABLE????????? Or is that another way to REDUCE POVERTY BY KILLING OFF THE POOR???????

A UNITED SOLUTION IN OUR COUNTRY ACTUALLY TOOK MAJOR WARS CALLED THE REVOLUTION AND THE CIVIL WAR TO RECTIFY AND UNIFY THE VARIOUS STATES AND THE AFTER EFFECTS ONLY NOW are beginning to diminish. If that is okay with Europe then the CSP PIE IN THE SKY MIGHT FLY.

However, America had one really BIG ADVANTAGE!!!!!! LANGUAGE!!!!!! English was a common language. Will the French accept giving up their beautiful national language? Will the Spanish discard their tongue and so on? MAYBE--but what kind of language unrest is certain to linger? Can they resolve it or will it continue as it has in Canada just at a simmer state?

What about that all important CSP GOVERNMENT????????WHO GETS THE CONTROL??????? What nationality becomes the IMPORTANT ONE??????? Don't think that's a problem????? That's because you think AMERICAN NOT AS ONE OF THE DIVERSE GROUPS IN YOUR COUNTRY.

DOESN'T ALL THIS SOUND HORRIBLY FAMILIAR?????????Didn't this FAILURE IN RUSSIA??????? Sure the Soviet Union was not made of countries that all willingly conceded to the Union of Russia (which in some ways made DICTATING easier) but the outcome would not have changed very much. And considering Russia's history, can we not believe that some conguring would have to go on in Europe to add enough countries to make the Union look and feel strong which it needs to be as the United States of Europe. WHAT ABOUT THE SOVEREIGNTY OF most of THE SMALL COUNTRIES WITH NO WAY TO REFUSE???????

YOU KNOW FOLKS SOONER OR LATER WE ARE ALL GOING TO HAVE TO COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THESE OLD--OLD--CENTURIES OLD METHODS ARE 'OUTDATED' AND WE NEED NEW AND BETTEr THEORIES AND PLANS FROM CREATIVE ECONOMIC SOURCES!!!!!!!

This blogger, personally, thinks the American system for AMERICA IS PRETTY DAMN GOOD, NOT PERFECT, BUT PRETTY DAMN GOOD, if the KNOW NOTHING POLITICIANS WOULD STOP MESSING AROUND WITH IT, it might just evolve into a system that eventually would reduce poverty AND LEAVE only THOSE WHO WILL NOT BE HELPED and reduce CONFLICT EXCEPT for those who CANNOT BE CONTENT. Then what you need for them is not more goods or money but a fork lift OF PSYCHIATRISTS to help.

This blogger is also positive that any groups who want to borrow the REAL STRUCTURE AND MEANING INHERANT IN OUR SYSTEM which ENSURES FOREMOST FREEDOM AND HOMOGENITY based on a strong view of CONSITUTIONAL RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES, should HAVE A REAL GO AT IT!!!!!!!!!! Understood, protected, and revered countries can find real BENEFIT AND PROSPERITY not PERFECTION, in acquiring AMERICA'S SYSTEM OF LIFE. NOT PERFECTION, BUT A CHANCE TO SEEK IT
even though it is futile.

A perfect economic system is simply A FICTION--A MIRAGE--AND THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A STRUGGLE TO ACQUIRE SOME MAGICAL WAY OF TOTAL EQUALITY. PERHAPS, WHAT CREATIVE FUTURE ECONOMISTS MUST FIRST ACCEPT is that IT IS ENOUGH TO COME CLOSE and then SHORE UP THE REMAINDER of the problems with PATCHES, BANDAIDS, AND CARING!!!! ISN'T THAT WHAT WE DO WITH CHARITIES AND DONATIONS AND SPECIAL FUNDS IN SOME SENSE??????

So not even discussing the tremendous economic problems that a UNITED STATES OF EUROPE will represent to the world; the shift of power that could occur between Asia and Europe; the movement toward other amalgamations and centralizing of SOUTH AMERICAN economies; and a movement toward ONE WORLDISM, the dream of THE POWER AND MONEY HUNGRY ELITE. THIS BLOGGER warns that serious economic attention must be given to the changes being thrust into the forefront by Socialistic forces. Remember that AN AMALGAMATION OF COUNTRIES into a UNITED STATES OF ANYWHERE becomes a catalystic shift in WORLD POWER AND A POTENTIAL threat of MORE WAR AND DESTRUCTION which THREATENS AMERICA viewed as a WORLD POWER.

LET'S PUT WASHINGTON ON A FINANCIAL DIET POST 85

Economics this week is about financial economics and the current problems facing our nation and facing Europe.

A friend who's a top financial analyst sent his take on the current AMERICAN FINANCIAL SITUATION. You may have other figures but these are his:

"I have done a good deal of study on true debt of USA and have concluded it is at least $80 Trillion (more than five times GDP of USA) using best set of numbers with detail back-up (460slide PowerPoint printed report). It was also the lead article in the February 1st Business Week on Mary Meeker's work on USA Inc. Her details come to $79.6 Trillion, but when carried up to top balance sheet it becomes only $44.3 Trillion. This was done by leaving out Medicaid........The report is good and shows a great many facts about just how unsustainable our debts are now. Once you put into the balance sheet the Medicaid number it becomes $79.6 Trillion ......and most likely be a little higher with true Obamacare costs. I expect this will get into the Congressional discussion at some point and they will stop talking about only $15 Trillion of bonded debts."

THINK OF THAT $80 TRILLION DOLLARS AND FIVE TIMES GDP OF THE USA. Remember GDP--that's our current earning power!!!! WE'RE NOT JUST IN DEBT--WE'RE IN THE KIND OF DEBT THAT CANCELLED HOME OWNER'S MORTGAGES INTO FORECLOSURE. That IS JUST TOTAL GOVERNMENT IRRESPONSIBILITY!! AND THE BLAME REACHES BOTH SIDES OF THE FENCE--DEMOCRAT AND REPUBLICAN.

What we're talking about here is simple. The USA MAY HAVE TO GO ON A FINANCIAL DIET pretty DAMN QUICK much like Greece AND Italy in order to avoid "CHINESE" FORECLOSURE. HOW DID WE GET IN THIS POSITION??????? LOTS OF BAD CHOICES AND BIG SPENDING!!!!!!!!!

Do you realize that FEDERAL EMPLOYMENT TOTALS ARE 21 MILLION (GIVE OR TAKE A FEW)FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES AVERAGE SALARIES ANYWHERE FROM $150,000 to $350,000 annually for clerk type jobs. These FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WORKERS COMPRISE MORE THAN 16% of the electorate. Do you realize that we pay $180,000 for life of US Presidents (this I think considering the job is justifiable); the salaries of house/senate members, $$174,000 House speakers, $223,500. majority/minority leaders $193,400. AND WE'RE GETTING A LOUSY RETURN ON THE INVESTMENT through INCOMPETENCY!!!!!!!!!

We hear a lot about the cost of the military. It's not the men laying down their lives--they average $38,000. a year AND NOT FOR LIFE. HOW ABOUT THAT DRATTED SOCIAL SECURITY. THE AVERAGE INCOME FOR SENIORS IS ABOUT $12,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE but seniors paid into a fund that was supposed to grow through investment for their future. That went out the window when the government reneged and used the money for other problems. Frankly most seniors don't get that much money.

ALL OF THIS IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG. this blogger COULD GO ON AND ON CITING THE RIDICULOUS DEBTS that our Government has incurred; the ridiculous amounts loaned to ALL COUNTRIES THAT VOTE AGAINST US IN THE UNITED NATIONS where biting the hand that feeds you seems to create a MAJOR SWELLING OF PRIDE; the ludicrous growth of a CENTRAL GOVERNMENT that exceeds all the expectations and needs of the citizens of this country; the MILITARY SPENDING ON HELPING COUNTRIES CORRECT THEIR MASSIVE POLITICAL MISTAKES. ON AND ON AD INFINITUM!!!!!!!!

So, what happens now??????? Well, this blogger would not suggest you COUNT YOUR CHICKENS BEFORE THEY HATCH. With government spending out of control even if they RESCIND THE HEALTH CARE BILL, don't look for a lot of government help. THEY CAN'T HELP OUR COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!SO HOW CAN THEY HELP YOU AS AN INDIVIDUAL CITIZEN.

WHAT ABOUT THOSE MILLIONAIRES WHO WENT TO WASHINGTON BEGGING.....TAX ME.......TAX ME.....TAX ME!!!!!!!!!WHY?????????? SO YOU CAN BE TAXED MORE, OF COURSE. THINK ABOUT IT!!!!! You realize that MR. MULTI-MILLIONAIRE could simply sit DOWN AT HIS DESK, dash off a CHECK for ten MILLION OR SO and send it to the GOVERNMENT. Then he could call his ACCOUNTANTS and TELL THEM NOT TO TAKE ALL THOSE DEDUCTIONS OFF HIS TAX RETURN OR HIS COMPANY'S TAX RETURN AND PAY A HUMONGOUS SUM IN TAXES. HE DOESN'T NEED TO DEMAND ANYTHING. SO WHAT'S THE DEAL???????

HEY, THAT'S EASY!!!!!!!! SO WHY THE DRAMA????? Well, the millionaires that went to Washington believe that Socialism will make them zillionaires and that maybe the rest of the millionaires on the tax rolls won't contribute to their relief fund!!!!! So, taxation is the way to go. EQUAL TAXATION FOR ALL INCLUDING THAT BIG, FAT MIDDLE CLASS THAT THEY'D LIKE TO RID THEMSELVES OF AND HAVE A LARGER, POORER NETWORK THAT WILL GO ALONG WITH ANYTHING so as NOT TO STARVE!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, THAT'S A GUESS BUT ONE BASED ON THE BEHAVIOR PATTERNS OF THE CURRENT CROP OF SOCIALIST MILLIONAIRES, WHO, BY THE WAY, MADE THEIR MONEY ON YOUR WILLINGNESS TO SUPPORT THEIR BUSINESS OR SHOW BIZ TALENT!!!!!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!! THEY'RE LIKE THE UNITED NATIONS....BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS it !!!!!

We need to elect a set of CONGRESSMEN, BOTH HOUSE AND SENATE, who understand that there are some HARD CHOICES TO BE MADE. YES, WE NEED ANOTHER PRESIDENT BUT EVEN MORE WE NEED ....THE CONGRESS THAT WILL DICTATE TO THE PRESIDENT A DIETARY BUDGET, ONE THAT SHAVES AWAY AT THE NATIONAL DEBT AND DOESN'T INCUR MORE. A Congress that realizes that we are up to our EYEBALLS IN DEEP DO DO AND SINKING FAST!!!!!!!!!!

There's no doubt in this blogger's mind that there will be tax increases; poor investment return, and little zest in the economy for a period of some years. Just an educated guess. The question is, are the average citizens the only belt-tightening element or is the Government going on a diet that not only tightens the belt but TAKES A LOT OF POUNDS OFF THE ASS END OF GOVERNMENT???????? THAT COULD SHORTEN THE PAIN!!!

IT'S REALLY YOUR CHOICE IN 2012. Don't listen to all the BS about getting rid of Congress. That's A ONE WAY TICKET TO SOCIALISM OR DICTATORSHIP. We need to retain a CONGRESS but send them to WASHINGTON WITH STRICT ORDERS. GET THE BUDGET DIET DONE, GET IT RIGHT, (give up the Pork as well as the fat) AND IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW TO DO IT--FIND SOMEONE WHO DOES AND LEARN FROM THEM. DO NOT PASS BILLS THAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!!!!! MOST OF THE CONGRESS DID not EVEN READ THE HEALTH CARE BILL BEFORE PASSING IT IN 2010!!!!!!! HOW DARE THEY??????????? If we'd wanted DUM DUMS IN OFFICE, WE'D HAVE GONE OURSELVES.

VOTERS NEED TO DO THEIR HOMEWORK!!!!!!!! Who cares what he/she look like if they can do the job. WE DON'T NEED ROCK STARS OR ROCK HEADS!!!!!! Another old saying: Pretty is as pretty does. So if you choose A PRETTY/HANDSOME CANDIDATE-make damn sure he/she has got the GOODS TO DO THE JOB!!!that's what counts.

The hoop-la is about the current epidemic of DIABETES. It is a growing concern for HEALTH EXPERTS AND THE NEW HEALTH CARE PROGRAM. THEY ARE SEEING AN EPIDEMIC IN OUR NATION'S CHILDREN. SOUNDS SCARY ........let's look at some facts. Diabetes has been around for thousands of years and the HEALTH RESEARCHERS HAVE NOT FOUND A CURE OR EVEN A REAL REASON FOR IT TO TAKE OVER PEOPLE'S BODIES. WHAT THEY HAVE IS THEORIES BASED ON research AND MEDICINE TO TREAT THE DISEASE. One of the constants is: people who are overweight OFTEN HAVE DIABETES. However, IT ALSO ATTACKS SLIM FOLKS. Some interesting insights into childhood obesity may be in our current mores. In the 1930s EVERYONE WAS TOLD THAT FOR CHILDREN TO GROW STRONG AND HEALTHY THEY MUST BE GIVEN LOTS OF HEALTHY FOOD. Evidently, the POWERS THAT BE IN THIS COUNTRY are concerned that CITIZENS took that advice too LITERALLY and are raising a nation of FAT PEOPLE!!!!!!! Yeah, there's a lot of what is called junk food. No one seems to have any idea why overweight and diabetes is becoming more of a problem in children other than diet AND inactivity. Increased activity appears to achieves a small measure of success. It increases overall health but slimness is not often a consistent result. BUT BECAUSE THE BLAME CAN BE PLACED ON THE PARTICIPANTS AND SINCE AMERICANS CARRY SO MUCH UNNECESSARY GUILT SO THEY ACCEPT THE BLAME.

If the HEALTH INDUSTRY (AND I RIGHTLY CALL IT AN INDUSTRY) HAD ANY IDEA HOW TO MAKE DIETS CONSISTENT AND KEEP WEIGHT DOWN, THEY WOULD HAVE SOLD IT IN PLACE OF HOT CAKES!!!!! FOR MILLIONS. ALL THEY'VE EVER PROFESSED ARE THEORIES!!!!!!!!THAT ONLY WORKS FOR A TIME UNLESS THE DIETER LIVES LIKE A MONK FOREVER. Give the same food to a thin person and a fat person over A period of time and one will lose weight and one will gain weight. Guess which????????? No theory touches that FACTOR!!!!!!!

BOTTLE FED AND NOT BREAST FED. BREAST FEEDING WAS CONSIDERED TO HAVE POOR NUTRITIONAL VALUE PARTICULARLY in the POOR and did not provide WHAT WAS NEEDED for a growing child.

USE FORMULA IT WAS ORDERED SO THAT YOUR CHILDREN GROW HEALTHY AND STRONG!!!!!OKAY!!!
Not THAT many FAT CHILDREN produced on formula and they grew HEALTHY AND STRONG!!!!!!!!!GOOD???????????FOR AWHILE!!!

Then the health EXPERTS got another wild hair up THEIR collective posteriors. NOW THAT WE HAVE THEM ALL HEALTHY AND STRONG AND GROWN, LET'S have these NEW mothers go BACK TO NURSING THEIR YOUNG. It's natural. It's cheap. AND THE STUDIES PROVE (By the way in case you haven't noticed there are studies that prove almost anything) THAT IT IS BETTER FOR THE CHILDREN!!!!!!!

There are other factors that differ in our current society that THE AFOREMENTIONED STUDIES often do not take into account. New mothers come from varying backgrounds that MIGHT include heavy ALCOHOLIC intake, heavy DRUG use, STRINGENT (NEAR BULIMIC) diets that take weight down to dangerous levels, heavy and OBSESSIVE-EMOTIONAL eating PLUS dozens of other abuses that cause bodily changes EVEN IF ONLY PRIOR to pregnancy. HOW MUCH DOES ALL THIS AFFECT THE BABY????????????? WHAT CHANGES IN CHEMISTRY EXIST??????? WHAT DIFFERENCES happen IN the baby's INTAKE and ABILITY TO UTILIZE AND DIGEST FOODS????? WHAT CHANGES IN THE MOTHER'S MILK??????????? SHOULDN'T THE INDUSTRY BE EXPLORING ALL OF THESE ELEMENTS AND MANY THIS BLOGGER HASN'T THOUGHT ABOUT BEFORE RAILING at CHILDREN FOR BEING FAT!!!!!!!!!

And in many ways aren't many of those conditions MUCH THE SAME as the ones in the thirties when FORMULA was BOO NED FOR HEALTHY BABIES AND FUTURE CHILDREN?? Starving for dieting to achieve model-like thinness isn't much different from starving from poverty. Doesn't poverty often include the abuse of drink and drugs??????? THINK hard BEFORE ACTING ON a THEORY whether supported by well-known health agencies, media or education.

THESE STUDIES ARE DONE BY PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARMED WITH CREDENTIALS AND MEANING-WELL THAT MAKE THEIR VIEWS SOUND RATIONAL. BUT..... ARE THEY?????? YOU HAVE TO BE THE JUDGE. DON'T CONDEMN YOUR OVERWEIGHT CHILD TO A LIFE OF ABUSE AND TORMENT BUT DEMAND COMPLETE INFORMATION NOT THEORY.

THIN IS NOT ALWAYS HEALTHIER. Americans come from all sorts of backgrounds. Italians and Spanish often come from a background of heavier, sturdy folks who worked in the fields in past centuries. The English background often sports lean frames although country portly is not unusual, the same as the Germans, Poles and Russians. Asians are often slim but Buddha is often portrayed as portly as is Hotai. In the not too distant past, being overweight denoted wealth which took health and industry.

There are genes that we pass on to children. THERE IS STILL MUCH TO LEARN ABOUT GENES AND THEIR EFFECTS. PASSING ALONG characteristics and traits INCLUDES BODY MASS.

Greece is sure making the Euro Union look like what it is--A Socialist idea that is bad for the involved countries. The problem is that when one country goes sour, they are all affected and on the line.

And the Greek folks like people everywhere have gotten used to the perks that the Socialist Government gave them and promised they would always have. THE citizens DON'T WANT TO GIVE THEM BACK!!!!!!!!!! The so-called "have-nots" benefited from the "so-called haves" sharing their hard won earnings to such an extent that the "haves" are now "have-nots" and the former "have-not's" WILL ONCE AGAIN BE "HAVE-NOTS". NO "HAVES" TO PAY THE BILL!!!!!!!!

THE EURO UNION IS STAGGERING AS THEIR FINANCIAL HOUSE OF CARDS COMES TUMBLING DOWN WITH GREECE at the forefront. Education has certainly helped to create a larger middle class to the extent that it has become difficult to find those who are willing to do the everyday tasks that require doing. This difficulty has in turn led to "open immigration" to fill those jobs.

England at one time had a beneficial program of training people to do jobs that normally would go wanting. They made butlers, household help and so forth part of a trained society that took pride in their work and were NO LONGER LOOKED DOWN ON as beneath people. They were simply another segment of society. Unfortunately, the English still maintained a class ridden society, and caused the training that was a good idea to fall by the wayside.

TOO BAD BECAUSE IT WORKS VERY WELL ALL ACROSS VARYING STRATA OF SOCIETY. WORKING IN A GROUP THAT VALUES THEIR LABOR IS WHAT MAKES PEOPLE PROUD. THINK OF THE GROUPS: SPORTS, ARTS, FINANCIAL, LAWYERS, DOCTORS, PILOTS, BROKERS, ADMINISTRATORS ETC. ETC. They ACQUIRE TRAINING, TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR WORK, AND FIND SATISFACTION IN IT AND DO NOT DEEM THEIR EFFORTS beneath them!!!!

WHY CAN'T WE DO THE SAME for all types of work????????? There is certainly no benefit to looking down on one kind of work while lauding another. IT IS JUST A DIFFERENCE IN TRAINING.
AND NOW, PARTICULARLY WITH TECHNOLOGY, WE SHOULD BE PROVIDING A CATEGORY OF COMPUTER TRAINING IN ALL OUR SCHOOLS SO THAT SOME REALLY UNPLEASANT JOBS CAN BE HANDLED BY ROBOTS AND COMPUTERS.

RETHINKING OUR ATTITUDES MAY BE MORE THE KEY to success in CAPITALISM than other more esoteric and self-serving remedies. THERE ARE CERTAINLY ALWAYS GOING TO BE A CERTAIN NUMBER OF CITIZENS IN ANY COUNTRY THAT SIMPLY WON'T CONTRIBUTE THEIR EFFORTS. BEFORE we got so "nicey-nice" and stopped calling a "spade a spade" but a ROUTINE DIGGING MECHANISM, we used to call that segment of society BUMS!!!!!!!! THE BUMS IN OUR SOCIETY OFTEN PRACTICE WHAT I CALL 'PURE COMMUNISM'. THEY ROB THE RICH to supply themselves (the poor)!!!!!! Unfortunately, they often are not very nice about it when helping themselves to your treasures unless they want the law to catch them and house them for the winter.

I have read that the FRENCH WORK TO PLAY BUT MOST AMERICANS LOVE TO WORK TO ACCOMPLISH SOMETHING AS WELL AS EARN MONEY TO WORK AT PLAYING. I think that's why volunteer causes are so much more effective here than abroad. We are a nation of DOERS AND THAT has BROUGHT GREAT AND GOOD RESULTS.

In a previous BLOG, the demise of Communism in the world was described (areas in Europe, Asia, and South America etc. etc.) because it is FRANKLY going down AND THE ECONOMIES OF COMMUNIST COUNTRIES ARE BATTLING FAILURE. That's why they need America as a beacon.

Greece is a great example of Socialism gone wrong, however the Communist economies in ALL THE EUROZONE COUNTRIES SUCH AS England, France, Spain, Italy ETC. are suffering from financial woes in a greater degree than America. The problems experienced in the U.S. mortgage debacle WAS CAUSED by the SOCIALIZED ELEMENT OF OUR GOVERNMENT with interference through Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, AND is NOW being USED BY OBAMA to bail out???????? the DEFUNCT mortgagees.

It is the same approach that those GOVERNMENT DARLINGS used that SUNK AMERICANS INTO THIS RECESSION MESS. GREEDY BANKERS, BROKERAGE HOUSES, AND MORTGAGE AGENCIES FINISHED THE JOB. This blog has discussed this before. The current WISDOM is that the world is in the beginning stages of a big shift toward technology and it is merging with globalization and information technology. The PRESSURE TO CHANGE (much like the Industrial revolution) is causing job performance to deteriorate, JOBS TO BE LOST, and creating a stress that no one can quite put their finger on but that seems to emanate from using old but now dysfunctional methods that are fouling up the works.

People react to the stress of the resulting problems OF CHANGE in various ways. One way is to march!! Have you thought about the old days when GOING TO WAR WAS USED TO build THE ECONOMY? HOW DID THEY START???????? THEY MARCHED THE SOLDIERS IN CLEAR VIEW AS IF TO SAY "SEE, WE'RE FIXING 'IT'!!!!!!!" WHATEVER THE HELL 'IT' IS!!!!!!!!!!! ANOTHER WAY stress and concern manifests is through YOUNG PEOPLE who DEMAND CHANGE IN THEIR LEADERS. Those leaders mostly don't have a clue ABOUT what is wrong either. The very LAST THING MOST FOLKS DO IS acknowledge and ACCEPT CHANGE!!!!!!!! They ruminate. They blame. They thrash about and they yell (a lot) thinking that maybe NOISE WILL SCARE CHANGE OFF!!!!!!!! But CHANGE IS INEVITABLE (AND MORE OFTEN GOOD THAN BAD).

SO HEY, WHY DO people WANT TO SCARE IT OFF????? Change is one of the most important INGREDIENT OF CREATIVITY AND can be A POSITIVE USE OF TALENT AND GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!Out of the SIXTIES REVOLT CAME MORE ARTISTIC CREATIVITY THAN HAD BEEN SEEN IN A LONG TIME. That creativity opened the doors to advancements in technology, production, distribution of goods, travel etc. Look back at the sixties and look at the present and it's amazing what has been accomplished.

The word Economics either turns people off or scares them off because it sounds DULL, DULL, DULL!!!!!!! Or DIFFICULT. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------IT'S REALLY NOT EITHER ONE!!

ECONOMICS IN 80 blogs SHOULD PROVE IT IS the subject of our LIVES AND LIVING. It includes finances and politics as well as the information on our daily lives and needs. The Web is proof of how much the subject now encompasses. If you google economics, you'll find that the information on the site is mind boggling in its variety.

Of course, money makes the world revolve. It doesn't necessarily provide happiness, contentment, love or sometimes even fame but it does make the wheels roll. Especially those car wheels these days!!!!!!!!!! So, first and foremost, Economics talks about finance and that always includes power based entities like politics, corporations, entertainment etc. etc. All of the industries we rely on become part of our daily lives and economics.

Even our conversation includes the ideas. How ECONOMICAL WAS IT TO SHOP AT XYZ TODAY OR WOULD IT BE MORE ECONOMICAL TO GO TO BFZ???????????

OBVIOUSLY, the existence of Economics in your budget is clear as things go up and down and factors affect it such as the oil companies' gasoline prices. Pricing affects your budget both positively (price warfare on products in the computer field) or negatively (increases in food staples). Economics is controlled by spending or non-spending by the consumer. We all know that PROFIT IS IMPORTANT TO COMPANIES BECAUSE IT IS USED to pay salaries, build greater products, expand facilities, and dozens of other hidden expenses.

The big question lately seems to be why do some EXECUTIVES achieve such high and disproportionate salaries???? The EASY ANSWER is that ECONOMICALLY THEY EITHER PROVIDE THE COMPANY WITH BUDGET SAVINGS OR EARN THE COMPANY BIG BUCKS IN NEW BUSINESS OR BUSINESS ENTERPRISES!!!!!!!

UNFORTUNATELY, I HATE TO MENTION THIS BUT THEY ARE ALSO SMARTER THAN YOU AND THIS BLOGGER. THEY NEVER FOUND ECONOMICS BORING OR FELT INTIMIDATED BY IT!!!!!!!! In fact the opposite is true. They found ECONOMICS CHALLENGING and EXCITING and therein lies the tale. (The tail that wags this subject!!!!!)

These HIGHLY PAID EXECUTIVES FIND the RESPONSIBILITY of ECONOMICS both exciting and stimulating. They love CUTTING EXPENSES AND PROVIDING A GOOD OR BETTER PRODUCT!!!!!!!!! THEY LOVE finding new ways to improve and expand. AND BEYOND ALL ELSE THEY LOVE TO MAKE MONEY FOR THE COMPANIES THEY WORK WITH AND FOR THEMSELVES. They love it because to a highly paid EXECUTIVE, it is THE "GAME" NOT THE MONEY THAT MOTIVATES THEM!!!!!!!! It is FOOTBALL, SOCCER, BASKETBALL, HOCKEY, BASEBALL ALL ROLLED INTO ONE and the object is WINNING!!!!!!!!

IT'S in their genes (and goes into their jeans pockets)--just pure and simple WINNING!!! Those WINNERS are worth thousands of times their weight in gold to any industry. You may not like it but although you are possibly worth what you are being paid (OR MORE) and work hard for your living, these potentates accomplish more every day IN PROFIT FOR THE CORPORATION than you may in ten years!!!!!!! That same Corporation may affect your well-being such as the food industry, the car industry, the clothing industry etc.etc. YOU WANT HIM TO DO A GOOD JOB TOO!!!!!!!!!!!

TOO BAD OUR REAL HEROES AREN'T LAUDED LIKE OUR BALL PLAYERS. Opt for the MOST MONEY THEN YOU ARE AT PRIME RISK and BUY stocks like BUNDLED MORTGAGE STOCKS. A very RISKY INVESTMENT!!!! Does your broker mention that? PROBABLY, BUT HE HAS TO SELL TO KEEP HIS POSITION. This risky venture was also thought up by a brokerage MARKETING GENIUS to make money for his company. You can say IT WAS EVIL GENIUS but for those SAVVY about stocks and who got in and out in time-MONEY WAS THE NAME OF THE GAME--NOT SECURITY.

Why a bunch of people would parade around demanding CHANGES TO WALL STREET SO they can become the equals of GENIUS is a REAL MYSTERY. Well, we are again at the beginning of a deadly skirmish, police action, war or whatever the "killing fields" are called now by the current political group. This time in Uganda because the Rebels are killing folks and THAT'S "OUR BUSINESS" because there are lawless gangs killing people and that's NOT A GOOD THING!!!!!!!

Jeez, did we send troops to Chicago in the twenties and thirties during prohibition so that lawless gangs wouldn't kill folks who didn't agree with their point of view. We sent FBI AND TREASURY AGENTS, not armed military. OF COURSE THE FBI AND TREASURY AGENTS can seem like the military to American bad guys. Life is filled with MEAN FOLKS WHO JUST CAN'T ABIDE OTHER MEAN FOLKS who don't agree with their point of view.

Of course, there's the old saw that a Democratic President will start a war to improve the economy but that proved rather unhealthy for their political party with Viet Nam, so surely Obama couldn't be FOOLISH ENOUGH TO TRY THAT??????????? Sure THE AFOREMENTIONED SHOOTING ACTION creates jobs by starting factories making arms, tanks and robots. It puts folks in jobs in the military ON PAYROLL, provides 3 squares a day (meals that is) and a roof over their heads, but surely that's not what President Obama meant by JOBS' incentives. An increase in the FUNERAL BUSINESS with a shoot-em up scenario doesn't really address the problem in the larger portion of the economy.

When we study the list of candidates running against Obama and notice there seem to be NO DEMOCRATS DECLARING FOR THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT (DOESN'T THAT STRIKE YOU AS SHORTSIGHTED??); we do not see the KIND OF CANDIDATE (AS yet) THAT WE NEED. HOWEVER, AS OFTEN HAPPENS IN ELECTIONS, this election MUST BE A VOTE AGAINST CSP and the PRESENT Administration and for the CANDIDATE MOST LIKELY TO SUPPORT THE AMERICAN CONSTITUTION AND FINANCIAL SYSTEM.

To hear the media tell it, they're marching all over THE Wall STREET brokers and causing untold confusions. Unfortunately, the media made the mistake of showing an overhead view of the marchers and if they were more than 500, they must have been hiding. In a country peopled by over 312 Million, that's not even a "drop in the bucket". The press modified its propaganda by saying there are uprisings in cities over the country. Well, there was a group in a Miami, Florida park this week who were barbecuing politicians and bankers verbally rather than picnicking.

Of course, we understand that the Communists, whoops there I go again, the Progressives hope to play on the angst of hormone rising youth, the unemployed, Union Workers (who love to participate in anything opposed to any kind of business that doesn't pay their salary) and whatever other malcontents, misguided citizens, or illegal aliens that will support their love of Barack Obama and their BIG GOVERNMENT AGENDA!

Whoopee, here we go again. The Communists did this in the thirties, the Socialists in the Sixties, and now the Progressives in the "teens". They're all the same group, COMMUNISTS, SOCIALISTS, PROGRESSIVES by the way--just a little NAME CHANGE to woo supporters. There used to be an old expression, "there's more than one way to skin a cat", which is not a lovely thought but in this case for the unlovely subject, appropriate.

Early in September, I read a small article in the local newspaper about the Federal Government suing 17 financial firms, "including the largest U.S. banks" for selling government OPERATED Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac billions of dollars worth of mortgage-backed securities that turned toxic when the housing market collapsed. NEVER MIND THE GOVERNMENT'S CULPABILITY IN THESE MORTGAGE LOAN FIASCOES!!!!!!!!!!!!They're ignoring their part by suing FREE ENTERPRISE BUSINESSES.

Bank of America Corp, Citigroup Inc., and a variety of various brokerage houses were targeted by the Federal Housing Finance Agency which OVERSEES Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in buying mortgage loans and mortgage securities. EVIDENTLY "OVERSEEING" DOES NOT MEAN AVOIDING RISK BUT MEANS SHIFTING BLAME TO TO THE BANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae bought $196 billion worth of risky investments. (Now that's some fancy OVERSEEING BY THE FEDERAL HOUSING FINANCE AGENCY!!!!!!!!) HOW COME THEY DIDN'T CHECK THEM OUT TO ASSESS RISK????????ISN'T THAT WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSEDLY EXPECTED TO DO????? The suit alleges that the financial firms broke federal and state laws with the sales to FM and FM-IGNORING THAT THESE LOANS WERE SOLICITED BY FANNIE MAE AND FREDDIE MAC.

NOT ONLY SOLICITED BUT FIRMLY ENCOURAGED AS A WAY TO PROVIDE HOMES FOR THE POORER MEMBERS OF OUR SOCIETY. THESE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES ARE SEEKING EXONERATION as well as reimbursement plus interest etc. etc. PLUS ACCUSING THOSE INVOLVED IN THE SALES WITH BREAKING FEDERAL LAWS WHICH EVIDENTLY DON'T INCLUDE EMPLOYEES IN GOVERNMENT POSITIONS!!!!!!

The knowledge THAT the Communists' PHILOSOPHY, oh excuse me, PROGRESSIVES' PHILOSOPHY, IS BASED ON ACQUIRING THE BANKING INDUSTRY (or FINANCIAL) SYSTEM, the POLITICAL SYSTEM, and ESTABLISHING DEPENDENCY ON GOVERNMENT is or should be well-known. So, of course, too much REALLY BLATANT ACTION on the part of the Progressives in power IN AMERICA ALARMS THE PUBLIC AND IN RECENT YEARS a softer approach has been advised so that it is easy to deny.

Therefore, it behooves the Progressives to find more subtle ways TO "SKIN THE CAT" especially concerning the banking system in America. The maneuver of making banking dependent on Government controlled FANNIE MAE AND FREDDY MAC, while encouraging greater and greater risky mortgage taking, certainly yielded a bonanza. It was a Progressive "win-win" situation that one has to acknowledge for its duplicity!!!!!!

Putting one over on bankers has long been a cherished game and the Progressives certainly did that. Bankers chose dependency on questionable Federal lending agencies because of greater PROFIT. Progressives in Government solicited a position of funding mortgages for those who could not afford them and in the case of default being able to BLAME THE BANKERS FOR THEIR PART IN THE RUSE!!!!!! BANKERS FORGOT THE OLD RULE OF BANKING--LOAN NOT TO FALLACY FOR FALLACY LOANS TO FAILURE. In other words--loans that can't be repaid are lost money not profit.

There is no doubt that SOME of the current slate of BANKERS were CREDIT FOOLS WHO SAW ONLY THE PROFIT SIDE NOT THE "DOWNSLIDE". THOSE BANKERS CERTAINLY IGNORED another old saying "A MAN IS MEASURED BY HIS DEEDS NOT HIS POCKETBOOK".

AND THE PROGRESSIVES CLAIM THEY MEANT WELL--RATHER THAN ACTED BADLY (lol). So, now Progressives are taking the HIGH ROAD and THRUSTING ALL THE BLAME ON THE BANKING INSTITUTIONS THAT WERE CERTAINLY FREE TO RESIST THE TEMPTATIONS BEING OFFERED BY THE GOVERNMENT. MANY BANKS DID resist AND TO THEM GOES A VOTE OF 'GOOD CREDIT'!!!!!!!!

How does all this help the progressive cause????? IF YOU BANKRUPT A BANK!!!!!!!!!!WITH LAWSUITS FOR SOMETHING YOU HELPED SET IN MOTION--HOW DOES THAT DIFFER FROM TAKING OVER THE BANK????????? Sure, the bank WAS CULPABLE BUT SO WAS THE GOVERNMENT!!!!!!!! Bankrupt the bank and soon MAGNANIMOUS GOVERNMENT can BECOME A SAVIOR and take it into its STICKY WEB.

"OH WHAT A WEB WE WEAVE, WHEN FIRST WE PRACTICE TO DECEIVE"!!!!!!!!!Lots of old sayings that obviously the Progressives have put to good use. IT'S NO WONDER THAT THE PROGRESSIVE PARTY (whoops another mistake-the DEMOCRATIC Party) considers itself the party of intelligence. IF ONE RATES INTELLIGENCE AS DUPLICITY, RUSES, ROLE PLAYING, AND UNWAVERING ILLUSION then their claim is certainly justified. BUT NOT JUSTIFIED IF ONE RATES intelligence as HONESTY, PRINCIPLE, INDIVIDUALITY, and REASON BASED ON REALITY and FACTS.

WE CAN'T CREDIT MANY OF OUR POLITICOS with THAT KIND OF intelligence THESE DAYS BUT the ULTIMATE DUNCE CAP CERTAINLY GOES TO THE PROGRESSIVES FOR GETTING AMERICA INTO THIS MESS.

BUT wait!!!!!!!!!The Progressives have a saying all their own: NO CRISIS SHOULD GO UNWASTED!!!! so SUING THE BANKS AS A PLOY TO TAKING THEM OVER CERTAINLY FITS THAT BILL. AND IF CONTROLLING AMERICA IS THE ULTIMATE GOAL, WHAT BETTER WAY THAN A SEVERE DEPRESSION!!!!!!!!

Amusement at the JUSTIFICATIONS often given as excuses for even the most basic of actions, the laughter becomes hardier at the more complex of the justifications. By the way, this kind of justifying is recorded in Shakespeare's time so folks have been excusing their feeble ways for centuries.

The latest in a long line of justification for inaction harks back to blog #62 on the use of water in drought stricken fire areas from flood driven water areas in America. There was an article out of Washington recently that pooh poohed the idea of taking water to drought areas from flood areas as too costly and unrealistic. The article cited "a Texas oilman who once envisioned long pipelines carrying water to drought stricken Texas cities". A VISIONARY, obviously, whose idea was ahead of its time. The article called it just one of the untested fantasies of moving water vast distances.

GOOD IDEAS START OUT AS FANTASIES AND THOSE WHO HEAR THEM ALWAYS SAY "OH, NO THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE BECAUSE (WRITE IN HERE WHATEVER JUSTIFICATION!!!!!! that COMES TO MIND).

This WASHINGTON NEWSPAPER writer, obviously, is NOT a visionary and states that "moving vast quantities of water is not simple or cheap experts say," (DID ANYONE SAY IT WAS?????) "and thus not realistic." (NEITHER IS THE GOVERNMENT IN WASHINGTON BUT WE CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THAT!!!!!!) "Mostly it's too costly and political"(SAME AS WASHINGTON AGAIN!!!!!! AND THIS NEWS WRITER LIVES THERE?????). OKAY--neither WAS making a pipeline to Alaska and let's remember ALL WHO SAID IT COULDN'T BE DONE and THAT IT WASN'T REALISTIC. SAME EXPERTS.

THE ANSWER TO THAT can be assumed to be "but oil MAKES MONEY". OF COURSE IT DOES AND SO COULD WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are pipe lining WATER TO A DROUGHT AREA, DO YOU SUPPOSE THAT COULD BE AS VALUABLE TO THEM AS OIL?????????????? MAYBE MORE VALUABLE??????Is it possible that the FOLKS WHO ARE BEING FLOODED MIGHT CONSIDER MOVING THAT WATER ALONG A BENEFIT AND CONSIDER IT AS VALUABLE AS OIL????????????????? I would venture a guess (but I'm no statistician) that the cost of the fires in Texas and the costs of floods in mid-America and Louisiana alone could pay for the "hundreds of billions" of dollars this article cites building pipelines could cost.

AND WHAT ABOUT EXISTING PIPELINES CARRYING OIL? REMEMBER!!!!!!!!!!OIL AND WATER DON'T MIX!!!!!!!!!!! CAN WE USE THOSE SAME LINES AT GIVEN TIMES??????? CONTAMINATION??????PROCESSING IS A CURE AND THIS IS NOT WATER TO DRINK! its FOR THE LAND!!!!!!!!!!!

The WEIGHT OF WATER is also cited by the Washington newspaper writer as a justification for not moving massive amounts of water up mountains and quotes Arizona law professor,Robert Glennon, author of the book "Unquenchable" as saying "What all those zany ideas suggest are the traditional beliefs that we can control nature and there must be some oasis out there where we can go to import water." He continues "But those are mirages, tempting but not realistic." OH RIGHT ON, PROFESSOR!!!!!! THE EXPLORATION OF SPACE WAS A "MIRAGE AND OASIS" AS WELL BUT IT WAS DONE!!!!!!!!!! CAN WE DO LESS FOR SUFFERING AMERICANS. AND DEAR PRESIDENT OBAMA: HERE'S YOUR WORK FORCE AND JOB CORPS. GET WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!

First and foremost, as a writer and and artist, I take exception to a lawyer's view of reality. The mess of "REALISTIC" laws in this nation currently floundering through the legal system are an indictment of the realities of the legal process. Left to legal reality, there would be little or no progress attributed to OUTLANDISH, ZANY, CREATIVE IDEAS.

Secondly, the weight of water may have to be explored by Engineers WHO set a course around, through or down through mountains to create portals to send the heavy weight on its way. Engineers built a Shuttle under the sea from England to Paris AND THE NAYSAYERS SAID IT Couldn't BE DONE!!!!!!!!!! THE PRESSURE OF THE WATER WAS TOO GREAT AND WOULD COLLAPSE THE STRUCTURE ETC. ETC. ETC. ETC........... HEY, it seems WE CAN JUSTIFY ALL KINDS OF NEGATIVE REASONS AS WELL AS POSITIVE ONES.

Looking at new ideas (or old ones) has to be done with an OPEN MIND and with the RECOGNITION OF NEW METHODS and ADJACENT costs. It is costing these flooded and drought stricken states and their citizens beyond belief!!!!!! SOMEONE OUT THERE MUST WANT TO EXPLORE "ZANY, OUTLANDISH, UNREALISTIC" IDEAS AND MAKE THEM REALISTIC?????????? PLEASE, SPARE THIS BLOGGER THE PLEBIAN THINKING!!!!!!!!!!!! THE JUSTIFICATIONS!!!!!!!! AND LOOK AT THE POSSIBILITIES!

ON ANOTHER FRONT THIS BLOGGER IS POSTING A PROTEST AGAINST THE WORST USE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND ZONING LAWS. In Florida, a man was run out of the Restaurant business after a three-year code dispute and fines amounting to over $638,000. ($500. a day) HIS SIN?????????? Bad food-NO, NO, NO!!!!!!!!!! LOUSY SERVICE?????????? NO, NO, NO. CHEEKY ATTITUDE??????????? Well MAYBE. HE HAD THE AUDACITY TO BUILD A "CHICKEE HUT" on the side of his business.

For those of you not familiar with FLORIDA INDIANS, THE CHICKEE HUT WAS THE INDIAN HABITAT AND THE HUTS WERE FOUND ALL OVER FLORIDA as little as TWENTY YEARS AGO. And many locals including my parents had them built in their back yards for barbecues. Great atmosphere!!!! THEY HAVE ROOFS OF Palm Fronds among other vegetation and a frame of local wood from trees. They were cherished because of their history. Now this Florida town took exception to a CHICKEE HUT being built on the Restaurant owner's land NEXT TO HIS RESTAURANT (NOT IN IT) WHICH COST HIM $26,000. (even Indian wampum has risen) and was not up to THEIR zoning standards (ONLY THE INDIAN'S). HISTORY SELDOM IS up to ZONING STANDARDS!!!!!!!!! They told THE RESTAURANTEUR to take it down and he refused. AFTER ALL IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A FREEEEEE COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!

END OF TALE??????????? Well he tried to get approval for modification--city said no deal--tear it down or be fined. OUT OF THE MESS OF LAW, THE CITY WAS AWARDED A FORECLOSURE JUDGEMENT (because they had the law on their side with zoning) WHICH ALLOWED THE CITY TO TAKE THE MAN'S PROPERTY TO RESOLVE THE FINES so HE JUST FILED FOR CHAPTER 11 bankruptcy.

Our REALISTIC LEGAL SYSTEM DID NOT SEE HISTORIC SEMINOLE INDIAN CHICKEE HUTS AS BEING EXEMPT FROM BUILDING CODES IMPOSED BY THE PRESENT ZONING SYSTEM. Our legal system is based on THE REALITY of LAW.

CAN WE SEE THAT THE REALITY OF PRESENT DAY LAW AND THE REALITY OF LIFE HAVE DIFFERING POINTS OF VIEW???????????? JUSTIFICATIONS CAN BE MADE BUT NOTHING CHANGES THE FACT THAT SOMEONE doing business up to food standards and other building standards, evidently honestly and straightforwardly, is now bankrupt, lost his business and his property because he wanted the freedom to build a HISTORIC CHICKEE HUT AND NOT BE ORDERED TO TEAR IT DOWN.

SOMEHOW, DOESN'T THAT SOUND LIKE SOME OF THE STORIES that we read about in COMMUNIST CUBA, RUSSIA, AND CHINA???????????

WHEN YOU VOTE NEXT YEAR, THINK ABOUT THE LOCAL LAWS AND YOUR LOCAL OFFICIALS AS WELL AS THE NATIONAL CANDIDATES!!!!!!!! The current trend in complex Computer software programs of any dimension (used by business, politicians, organized groups etc.) is to make them as difficult and mysterious as possible in order to SELL...SELL...SELL!!!!!! Just selling the software program is not enough. They write them so that you must buy many explanatory books, CDs, videos, short computer courses and long attended courses in various places. NOW AIN'T THAT JUST DUCKY!!!! Everyone has so much extra time after doing their work week, needed chores and and various activities that they would just love to spend it studying these SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS' programs in order to use them. NOT....NOT....NOT!!!!!!!!!!

At the moment, only a segment of the population is suffering the BITE OF THESE SHARKS BUT WITH MORE AND MORE GLOBAL INTERACTION, the number will soon increase. Some of the particular programs at present that suffer from inflated egos and arrogance are in the PUBLISHING FIELD. Many, who work for companies publishing booklets, brochures, books or whatever, are subsidized in time and money to achieve the necessary skills to use these programs. BUT IT SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY!!!!!!

A well-built software program can be made totally capable of solving or pointing out whatever is needed within the substance of the program. And the authors of the program (in many cases large firms) can easily provide chat rooms, email direction, or phone answers to questions that occur outside that range. INSTEAD THEY PROVIDE FAQS!!!!!!! BEEN THERE???? DONE THAT??????? IT'S A FOREST WITHOUT A PATH; A MOUNTAIN WITHOUT FOOTHOLDS; A MAZE FROM WHICH YOU MAY NEVER EMERGE!!!!!!!!

They need competition to slice through the arrogance and snobbery (I KNOW HOW!!! YOU DON'T!!YA-YA, YA childishness) and GREED!!!!!!!!!!!! AS YOU KNOW I believe in profit!!!!! I DON'T BELIEVE IN PROFITEERING!!!!! OFFERING NO WARRANTY, NO PERSONAL ASSISTANCE, MAKING THE PRODUCT UNNECESSARILY DIFFICULT THEREBY keeping the user from totally utilizing it without GOOD INSTRUCTION is WITHIN TECHNOLOGY tantamount to PROFITEERING!!!!!!!! THE END RESULT IS FORCING USERS INTO PAID INSTRUCTION after buying the ALREADY EXPENSIVE product. REMEMBER MR. SOFTWARE SNOB-COMPETITION IS OUT THERE and it'll be coming AFTER you!!!!!!!!!!

One of the available publishing programs is based on an OLD NEWSPAPER TYPESETTING PROGRAM (THAT FEW folks WOULD NOW KNOW) AND THEIR SHORTCUT SYMBOLS (or Greps as they are now known) and this old newspaper reporter REALLY benefited from some remembered composing room tips given TO her by compositors TOO many years ago to count!!!!!!!!

LUCKILY for the current SOFTWARE PRODUCERS, USERS of their software (SWEARING, SWEATING AND SCANNING FAQS) REQUIRE that software for their employment, business or publishing needs. SO THEY TOUGH IT OUT and many COMPANIES HAVE TO PAY FOR COURSES or for the time wasted on an unnecessarily rough search for answers to some inexplicable happening with the software projects.

YOU KNOW WHAT MADE BILL GATES AND STEVE JOBS AND THE OTHER GIANTS OF THE TECHIE WORLD RICH????????? The recognition that they had to provide a way for folks to easily use the new technological machines of the past--the home computers.

This blogger's first computer was a Radio Shack TRS80 computer which we nicknamed TRASH80. OKAY IT CAME WITH A WHOLE 16 kilobytes of memory with an upgrade to 32-64 KB and it took a techie to upgrade it. Minuscule (1 byte=8 bits) MEMORY-NO THAT'S NOT A MISTAKE--WHO THOUGHT WE'D NEED MORE???) and a switch hidden underneath. IT COST BASICALLY $600. (A FORTUNE in the 70s). Now you can get HP with big monitor, 6GB of ram and 1TB of hard drive. Trust me that's a LOT!!!!for only essentially $500.

It takes 1000 kilobytes to make just l megabyte. Home computers now often have 4,000,000 (4 million) kilobytes (KB). 1 million Megabytes translates into one 1000 GB to achieve a Terabyte (TB) of ROM. This is not to fill your head with numbers but to show HOW FAST WE'VE ADVANCED. I had that TRASH 80 in the mid l970s. That was 16 kilobytes as opposed to "GAD-ZILLION" MILLION bytes OF MEMORY TODAY!!!!!!!!!!! SOUNDS LIKE OUR NATIONAL DEBT DOESN'T IT????????

This sport took three weeks to get the computer running (LIKE CERTAIN SOFTWARE PROGRAM SUPPLIERS--NO ONE COULD OFFER ADVICE-my salesman disappeared into another store). I finally got a tiny SUPPLIED program into the machine. Ever sit for hours looking at a back lit piece of glass and one tiny blinking spot????????? No????????? Well you haven't missed anything. Seeing that dib dab of a program was a great relief when I finally figured out how to make the special Cassette TAPE (yes, it played like a tape recorder) WORK ON THE MACHINE!!!!!! You also saved your work on tape and it often got corrupted so you kept a lot around.

HOWEVER I STILL COULDN'T TYPE anything because I had to learn to write my own formatting program to get into Scripsit, the tiny word processing program on Cassette tape that contained a basic DOS format(that was computer language in the bowels of the machine). I AIN'T BRAGGING. IT CERTAINLY WASN'T MUCH of a program but it got me into the typing mode and I entered it thousands of times in the years to come.

After three weeks of initial frustration, my mate threatened to throw TRASH80 out or take an ax to it because my language was becoming increasingly salty!!!! Luckily, by that time I was close to PLAYING THROUGH, although I still had to learn how to print what I'd written. When I had it actually producing, it became a great time and paper saver for a writer who was accustomed to filling wastebaskets. AND I NEVER LOOKED BACK!!!!!!!

Trash 80 was a complete box--bulky but it included the guts, screen and keyboard all in one piece, however, it lacked much software assistance!!!!!!!!!!! A design that seems to be returning.

TA TANT DUH DAH.....RIDING IN A ON WHITE HORSE in the distance is GOOD OLE BILL GATES who had foreseen our need and prepared a program that let you use the computer EASILY with machine software that allowed the user to enter into the world of techies without having to write their own programs!!!!!!!!! HOORAY!!!!!! BILL IS THE REASON YOU CAN TURN ON THE COMPUTER AND FIND YOUR WAY AROUND EASILY. STEVE JOBS TOOK IT EVEN FURTHER WITH APPLE. Then, of course, the Internet became AVAILABLE because of other visionaries and that's why we need all those BYTES AND RAM FOR PROCESSING AND MEMORY!!!

MEN WITH VISION. OKAY, ALL YOU CURRENT VISIONARIES, THE USERS ARE IN DEEP DOO DOO AGAIN. There will be many more people wanting to use the computer for many tasks in the not too distant future and a need will exist for CREATIVE SOFTWARE that allows them to function without the struggles set up by various programs.

EITHER EXISTING SOFTWARE HAS TO BE MODIFIED SO THAT TIME IS NOT WASTED JUST LEARNING THE PROGRAM AND the user can accomplish the work OR COMPATIBLE SOFTWARE NEEDS TO BE DEVELOPED that breaks into the program and modifies or simplifies it. IT CAN BE DONE!!!!!!! AND YOU CAN BE RICH AS CROESUS WITHOUT HAVING TO STICK IT TO YOUR CONSUMERS!!!!

THAT'S WHAT the current Sophisticated Software Companies are doing. PULLING THEIR USERS CHAINS!!!!!!!!!THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR HIDING INFORMATION AND MAKING THINGS MORE COMPLICATED THAN THEY HAVE TO BE!!!!!! I'm not talking about Microsoft. It has done a fantastic job providing millions of office workers and others whose simple composing needs are accessed easily on the computer and in word processing.

As you can tell from my blog site, I write books and the sophisticated compositional software is now part of my life. SO, I KNOW WHEREOF I SPEAK. IT'S NOT A JOYOUS PART OF MY LIVING AND IS RENEWING MY FORMER %&^$# LANGUAGE SKILLS!!!!!!!!! And I know from my experience, it DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THIS WAY!!!!!!!!!!

SO, BEFORE OTHERS COPY THESE SOFTWARE PRODUCERS for the many NEW PROGRAMS THAT WILL BE REQUIRED IN FUTURE YEARS that you and yours will need to use, this blogger would like to SUGGEST TO FUTURE PROGRAMMERS THAT THEY HEED THE WARNING!!!!!!!!!If you want to be a HERO LIKE BILL GATES OR STEVE JOBS, PRODUCE SIMPLE BUT SOPHISTICATED SOFTWARE!!!!!!!!Yes, it can be done and it can be JUST AS GOOD OR EVEN BETTER BECAUSE YOU CAN INCLUDE MORE. If you simplify then it's possible to include even more sophistication for folks to use!!!!!!

This blogger (as Trash80 proves) is NO STRANGER to the FRUSTRATION TECHNOLOGY CAN PROVIDE AND HAS OVERCOME IT. So my complaint can't be cast aside as "TOO BAD, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND TECHNOLOGY OR HAVE NO TENACITY, OR YOU'RE JUST TOO DUMB". Well, it could seem so to the arrogant snobs who wrote the programs but IT JUST DOESN'T WASH!!!!!!!! The means are there for simplicity and now we need the geniuses to implement them and make the user comfortable with the new needs of computing!!!!!!!!!!!!

TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY--THAT IS QUESTION-post 75

Hi,

Lots of investors this week bought U.S. Government Treasury bonds and gold stocks to get their money out of riskier stocks and into safer territory. Bonds were at a lower percentage THAN THEY'VE BEEN IN YEARS.

For the small investor, T-bills are a better choice. Hard cold GOLD in the safety deposit box is also a better choice than gold stocks if you need to liquidate some of your portfolio. It is definitely the time to get out of risk stocks and bonds and stick with SOMETHING safer LIKE T-BILLS which are paying almost nothing but so far are stable.

Gold showed up at $1800.+ an ounce and you thought it was expensive at $800. an ounce several years ago. It's up 48% from a year+ ago. The prediction that I heard on TV by a gold expert is that it will top out at $3000. BUT REMEMBER, IT IS A RISKY COMMODITY!!!!!!!! IT GOES DOWN AS FAST AS IT GOES UP!!!!!!!!! So don't mistake it for a safe investment. It's speculative. BUY IT TO PUT AWAY in a vault FOR A RAINY DAY (THIS IS NOT NEARLY RAINY YET!!!!!!)

SILVER for those who can't bear to pay the price for GOLD is a usable commodity in bad times. Some favor coins and if they become numismatic, that's all to the good. Silver (not ersatz plated) is always good for the food and other necessities. Gold goes to taxes and big ticket problems. SILVER IS ALSO VALUED AT THE PRICE OF SILVER bullion NOT JUST THE COIN VALUE!!!! TEAPOTS, SILVER PLATTERS AND SILVERWARE RATE RIGHT UP THERE WITH GOLD FOR the big ticket items. It's hard for a grocer to give change on an order paid by a TEAPOT. SILVER CARRIES THE SAME RISKS AS GOLD IN FLUCTUATING PRICES but coins in the vault can be a comforting feeling when ALL ABOUT YOU IS RAINING DOWN ECONOMIC LOSS. Remember the German debacle when their money had to be carried in bushel baskets for a loaf of bread!!!!!For the lady investors, remember DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND as well as rubies, sapphires and emeralds--again not the ersatz kind. FIND A JEWELER YOU CAN TRUST!!!!!!!!

Let's face it , folks, economies can fail!!!!!!!Witness Greece and in the past Brazil but unless President Obama continues to spend from the Treasury like the other drunken sailors in our erstwhile government, AMERICA is still the safest and best economy going.

No matter what the Communists tell us in their propaganda, the Capitalist system is being taken on all over the world (including China). Capitalism is KICKING Communist BUTT and is winning over minds and hearts. THAT'S WHY THE HARD PUSH ON US IN AMERICA. THEY FIGURE IF WE GET ON THE BANDWAGON THEY CAN TURN THINGS AROUND!!! But because CAPITALISM is getting popular and being used by countries that have never had a free economy, there's a lot of error being made. (OR DOWNRIGHT CROOKED DEALING.) Our system has been in place with all kinds of checks and balances that MAY NOT exist in other stock markets opened across the world. REMEMBER WE NOT ONLY HAD ONE OF THE FIRST FINANCIAL MARKET PLACES BUT FOR A LONG WHILE OUR STOCK MARKET WAS A RARITY!!!!!!!!!

WE ALSO NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT a lot of what the wealthy used to call the NOUVEAU RICHE (that's the middle class--folks!!!!!!) are in the stock market today and are neophytes and not used to the ups and downs that are a regular event in stock trading. Liken it to SKIING, THERE'S A LOT OF UPS AND DOWNS, AND FALLS ALONG THE WAY UNTIL YOU PERFECT YOUR TECHNIQUE!!!!!!!!!!Even then there are a few embarrassing pratfalls.

SO THE STOCK MARKET is reflecting the fear of a lot of individual and new investors which drives it down as they sell, sell, sell to protect their assets. It, therefore, is not acting as a growth market but a very speculative market with severe trends. Unfortunately, this is not what the market is truly about. Yes, there are areas of risky speculation and like Las Vegas, winning is to be anticipated if not won. BUT THE MAIN THRUST OF THE MARKET SHOULD ALWAYS BE LONG TERM GROWTH!!!!!!!

A long term market is a slow climb based on companies and commodities that reflect steady growth and although WITHOUT flashy winners show financial gains over a long term. THEN AND ONLY THEN are your assets really in good hands. SENIORS SHOULD BE MOSTLY IN SAFE ASSETS since they're into utility not growth.

That's what the old term (which you no longer hear) BLUE CHIP STOCKS was all about. In those days that included General Motors (now a Government bail out), General Electric, Railroads, Utilities and certain rating top-starred companies. If a stock was rated tops then downgraded by Standard and Poors, it became an orphan outside ITS BLUE CHIP COMRADES.

Speaking of COMRADES, CHINA has a vital capitalistic system working through its Communistic shrouds and has dumped many of its former Government business ventures as too costly and too poorly run by the bureaucrats. They are attempting to run the two systems side by side but it's not going well for Communist idealists, who are finding little Government funding for their projects. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN, EXACTLY?????????? WHO THE DICKENS KNOWS BUT THIS BLOGGER'S GUESS IS AS GOOD AS ANY!!!!

It probably means what many of us believed, IT'S JUST TOO DAMNED EXPENSIVE to let ONLY IDEALS RULE!!!!!!!!!GOOD FINANCIAL PLANNING WITH PROFIT AND....LOSS CAN MAKE THE IDEALS WORK!!! AND COME TO FRUITION. Not the OTHER WAY AROUND!!!!!!! MOST OF US HAVE ALWAYS WANTED THE BEST FOR ALL but it has to come out of REALITY NOT A DREAMER'S PIPE.

And as more people recognize this, stock markets appear TO RULE, based on CAPITALISM, but it's going to take time for the REALISTS AND THE DREAMERS TO MAKE A PACT, JOIN HANDS, AND FINALLY provide the DREAM. THE LEARNING OF A NEW SYSTEM based on CAPITALISM is going to take most places in the world a while to assimilate but it may be the case that when they do, they will be better at it than Americans!!! OH, HORRORS!!!!!!!!!! HOIST ON OUR OWN PETARD AGAIN!!!!!

The gist of all this is that as we have INVESTORS APPEARING ALL OVER THE WORLD, our stock market will become financial fodder as well (and has) and be a lot more erratic and volatile than it may have been in the past. (WELL, THAT'S A STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION!!!)
We have become so global (world-wide) with the Internet and all the technology that America can no longer depend on a nice neat AMERICAN BLUE CHIP standard. However, it is possible to eventually have a GLOBAL BLUE CHIP PORTFOLIO appear and offer some real prosperity to many.

So tuck away a little gold and/or silver (that way you'll eat, buy jeans, and pay the mortgage) then hunker down for the LONG HAUL!!!!!!!!In the the long run if your portfolio has been well chosen, you will begin to earn again and your money will provide the comfort you seek.

YO-YOING STOCK MARKET POST 74

WHAT A MONTH!!!!!!!The stock market yo-yo dance is concerning to all investors so I want to attempt to impose some economic reality!!!!!!!

When this blogger was a young lass (some many years ago!!!!!!) a gentleman named Pop Jarrett introduced and instructed his naive friend on the STOCK MARKET. Hearing about BULLS AND BEARS, was concerning and caused the WONDER of the HUNT?????

He was very wise to the mysterious BOBBING OBJECT called the market SINCE HE HELD A SEAT ON THE STOCK EXCHANGE AND KNEW THE INS AND OUTS. A very lucky education. One of his first pieces of advice is still GOOD today. If you make 6% overall return in a year on your portfolio--YOU'RE A WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!

He attempted to buy wisely after investigating the stock completely (OF COURSE he never forgot that the BEST IS TO BUY LOW (the BEAR MARKET)--SELL HIGH!!!!!!!(THE BULL MARKET) RIGHT???????) and did not let the strong tides of the market affect his STABLE STOCKS.(called BLUE CHIPS in those days) He also bought some INVESTMENT GAMBLES (only about one-tenth of his portfolio) and tried to sell before they WENT DOWN IN FLAMES in a Bear Market. All good advice for then and now.

HE ALSO said THAT THE STOCK MARKET WAS NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED!!!!!!!!! Being a neophyte and faint hearted, it was advice well taken. His instructions also included for Stock Market buyers the ADVICE TO BUY GOLD AS A HEDGE AND IF THE MARKET'S GOING UP AND DOWN RAPIDLY BUY SILVER AS WELL. BELIEVE ME THE MARKET HASN'T CHANGED MUCH!!!!!!!!THE ADVICE IS AS GOOD TODAY AS IT WAS THEN!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing to remember is what the numbers on the STOCK MARKET REPRESENT. When this advice was given the MARKET WAS 800 POINTS ON THE DOW-JONES AVERAGE!!!!!!!!! That's right 800. NOT THE 14,000 IT HAD BECOME BEFORE IT WENT DOWN IN THE FIRST RECESSION.

Now think about this: If the Dow-Jones 800 point average CLIMBED TO 14000 POINTS in the twenty-first century, then there is another FACTOR TO BE CONSIDERED!!!!!!!!! HOW MUCH HAVE PRICES RISEN since LET'S SAY 1981 WHEN THE STOCK MARKET WAS AT 943 points ???????????? Well, an ECONOMIC RULE OF THUMB IS 10X. If prices are INFLATED (10Xlb.butter@.49 = $4.90) then doesn't it stand to reason that the market would REFLECT THAT INFLATION??????????

OKAY LIKE JOHNNY CARSON USED TO SAY ABOUT COMEDY "You buy the premise, you buy the bit"!!!!!!!!!! and ISN'T OUR FINANCIAL STRUCTURE "COMEDY"??????

SO FOLLOWING THE 10X logic the 943 MARKET SHOULD REFLECT AN INCREASE to 9430 POINTS and anything above that amount would BE RISKY "TERROR"TORY which puts a NEW LIGHT ON THE NUMBERS. When the market falls BELOW 9000 MIGHT BE THE TIME TO START WORRYING IF you are INVESTED IN ALL THAT CLOUDY SKY OR TRICKY VENTURES THAT DRIVE A MARKET TO HELL AND GONE!!!!!HIGH!!!!!!!!!!

The STOCK MARKET IS ONLY A REFLECTION OF WHAT INVESTORS ARE DOING AND BELIEVING!!!!!!!! A NEW VENTURE OR MULTIPLE VENTURES thought to be TERRIFIC can enter the game QUICKLY THESE DAYS,BE BOUGHT BIG,be reflected in positive numbers AND RISE. THE SAME STOCKS can turn sour RAPIDLY, lose followers and BE SOLD BIG AND FALL. SINCE THESE STOCKS ARE BOUGHT AND SOLD AT THE CURRENT 10X INFLATED DOLLAR, BIG NUMBERS BECOME STANDARD INFORMATION TO THE FOLKS FOLLOWING.

Of course, current investors are buying at these prices and they're losing at these prices if not wisely invested BUT that does NOT MEAN THAT THE MARKET IS COLLAPSING!!!!!!!!IT IS SIMPLY REFLECTING THE REALITY OF THE BUYING AND SELLING OF INVESTORS AND THEIR THOUGHTS ON WHAT IS HAPPENING FINANCIALLY, POLITICALLY, AND ECONOMICALLY.

Unfortunately REALITY is not well accepted these days in any field let alone the STOCK MARKET. OBVIOUSLY OUR POLITICIANS ARE HAVING TO FACE REALITY CHECKS THESE DAYS AS THEY FACE THEIR DENIAL OF INFLATION!!!!!!!

A factor in the AMERICAN STOCK MARKET that many citizens are not taking into consideration is that IT IS NO LONGER THE ONLY GAME IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!! Stock Markets have popped up all over the world as OUR CAPITALISTIC SYSTEM has begun TO KICK COMMUNISTIC BUTT elsewhere on our planet!!!!!!!!! AND WE HAVE TO FACE THE FACT that COMMUNISM GOES DOWN HARD!!!!!! There are many classes of MONIED FOLKS INVOLVED IN MANY MARKETS and a little MANIPULATION is not BEYOND THE ABILITIES, SKILL AND IMMORAL TACTICS OF THOSE WHO HOLD THE POWER. POWERFUL COMMUNISTS understand that MONEY WIELDS POWER in spite of all their rhetoric about not seeking money or power!!!!!!

And making the whole scenario even more complicated is the reality that people all over the world can now buy stocks and bonds through ON-LINE FIRMS THAT EITHER CHARGE LITTLE OR NO FEE and these BUYS AND SELLS THOUGH SMALL ARE VOLATILE and often based on little or no expertise other than OOPS--THERE GOES MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!! SELL...SELL...SELL!!!!!! The more small investors appear on OUR STOCK MARKET buying on the INTERNET with little knowledge, the more VOLATILE OUR STOCK MARKET (AND OTHERS) ARE LIKELY TO BECOME!!!!!!!

THE MESSAGE TODAY is that ALL INVESTORS MUST APPROACH ANY STOCK OR BOND MARKET with REALISM!!!!!!!!!! HO-HO-HO!!!!! THEREIN LIES THE COMEDY!!!!! Much of the world and its inhabitants have lost touch with that ILLUSIVE FRAME OF MIND. AND THIS LOSS OF REALITY ABOUT FINANCIAL CONCERNS LEADS TO OTHER PROBLEMS SUCH AS THEY HAD IN LONDON THIS WEEK.

The riots in LONDON although SHOCKING should have been anticipated. WE ARE GIVING OUR YOUTH THE IDEA THAT IT IS THEIR RIGHT TO ........HAVE IT ALL.......!!!!!!!!!! WITHOUT RESPONSIBILITY OR MORALS. SO WHEN THE ECONOMY TANKS AND THE STOCK MARKETS GO INTO BEAR MODE and their PARENTS REFLECT FEAR AND FAMINE....THEY THINK THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO TAKE WHAT THEY WANT BY FORCE.

WAKE UP FOLKS!!!!!!THE ENEMY IS LIVING IN YOUR OWN ABODE!!!!!!!TAKE THAT CELL PHONE AND PUT IT AWAY UNTIL THEY COME OF AGE. Don't expect them to UNDERSTAND a REALITY that ADULTS CAN BARELY COMPREHEND. Don't expect them to show a RESPONSIBILITY BARELY TAUGHT; GENEROSITY LIKE MOST GOOD TRAITS can become misused and CAUSE POOR MORAL HABITS. MODERN MORALS are THESE 5R'S: REALITY, RESPONSIBILITY, REMORSE, RALLYING AND RIGHT ACTIONS!!!!!! Not Rumbles, rampage, radicalism, rape, and ransacking. TEACH YOUR KIDS AND GRAND KIDS THE RIGHT 5R'S!!!!!!!!
