WE'RE NOT OVER AS AMERICANS. WE'RE JUST BEGINNING! POST 1857

Hi,

A little history lesson that may clarify the movement of the technological
revolution. Evidently,  history buffs have changed much of the history of both the technological revolution and the industrial revolution but the facts are still out there--just a bit harder to find.

What has happened is that the Industrial Revolution has been expanded into three parts, the last being the third part and it includes the Technological revolution that we are now experiencing.

 The Second phase of the Industrial Revolution now covers most of the change from our country being an Agricultural producing nation with small farms and hand machinery to a country working with power, power machinery (mechanization) and massive transportation so that it became commercial , large farms as survivors. The seed drill and tractor were the tip of the iceberg.

The move from agricultural jobs to factory or production work was massive and at one time three point two million were out of work which led to the Great Depression of 1929 and relocation brought massive change to cities and urban areas as people moved to the available jobs. WHAT DID AMERICANS DO??????? A LOT SUFFERED BUT THE REST CLIMBED INTO THEIR CARS, MADE THE TRIP, YOU WATCH OUR DUST. WE TOOK THE EXISTING JOBS, CREATED A TREMENDOUS ECONOMY AND MOVED INTO LEADERSHIP IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!! HEY, THAT WAS US AND W PROVED OUR WORTH!!!!!!!!!!

Although this second phase is designated as 1870-1914, I believe we can see that the Great Depression of 1929 is certainly a product of the immense changes happening in the previous years.

The third phase which we are supposedly in today shows as part of its beginnings more efficient use of land, genetically engineered crops, and genetically modified organisms that were the outcrop of enlightened and expanded concern with science. Mechanical equipment became the toys. This was also the beginning of great expansion in needed technologies and medical exploration begun for two large wars and many small ones. A ride to the planets became a flagship of determination. Much of the research and expansion came at great cost and the invention of needed technological tools took off with the TV and the computer. That expansion is still going on today.

So, what does all this mean?

It means in the short term that we are part and parcel of a tremendous forward movement of the Earth's civilizations!!!!!!!!!!

AND LIKE A GIANT SNOWBALL, (APPROPRIATE WEATHER-WISE) IT KEEPS GAINING MORE MOMENTUM AND TAKING VICTIMS AS IT ROLLS.

WAS THE FIRST MASSIVE MOVEMENT OF THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION PAINFUL?????????? YOU BET YOUR ASS IT WAS!!!!!!!!!! BUT LIKE GROWING PAINS: ENDURED BY MANY WHO SURVIVED AND THOSE WHO FLOURISHED.

THERE'S AN OLD SAYING, "GO WITH THE FLOW," AND THOSE WHO DID CAME TO BETTER TIMES REASONABLY QUICKLY. THOSE WHO COULDN'T DO THAT TOOK THE BITTER BLOWS OF LONG TERM UNEMPLOYMENT.

WHEN FOLKS SAY THAT "CHANGE IS INEVITABLE"--THEY AIN'T JUST "WHISTLING DIXIE," FRIENDS. AS LIFE MOVES INEXORABLY INTO DEATH SO CHANGE MOVES INEXORABLY FORWARD.

THOSE WHO SEE THE CHANGE FOR WHAT IT IS--INEVITABLE--AND IN TURN CHANGE THEIR TRAINING OR TAKE MORE SCHOOLING OR WHATEVER FOR TECHNOLOGICAL OPPORTUNITIES, THE CHANGE WILL CREATE PROSPERITY AND HAPPINESS.

FOR THOSE WHO IGNORE IT OR DENY ITS PROGRESS, AND STAY STATIC WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE OF THE NEW WORLD AHEAD, IT WILL BE AN EXTREMELY PAINFUL TRANSITION BECAUSE IT WILL CAUSE LOSS.

ANOTHER OLD SAYING: "TIME AND TIDE WAIT FOR NO MAN"!!!!!!!!!!

THINK MAYBE WE HAVE SO MANY "OLD SAWS" BECAUSE THEY CAME OUT OF JUST SUCH ADVERSITY??????????

I REALLY BELIEVE WE ARE BETTER PREPARED TO BE RETRAINED THIS TIME AROUND!!!!!!!!!!! WHY??????????

OUR TECHNOLOGY "TOYS" HAVE BEEN A REAL STEP TOWARD RETRAINING THE MAJOR POPULATION AND GENIUS AT WORK!!!!!!!!!! THINK ABOUT YOUR PHONE, YOUR COMPUTER, YOUR E-READERS, YOUR TABLETS. ALL OF THEM HAVE HELPED RETRAIN YOU TO USE TECHNOLOGY, AND HELP YOU TO WANT TO WORK WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!

IT'S ALL BEEN OUT THERE SHOWING US THE WAY WE WERE GOING. THE TRAINS, THE JETS, THE TV, THE CRUISE SHIPS, THE SECURITY SYSTEMS, THE FUNNY LITTLE COOKING TOYS LIKE THE MICROWAVE. WHEREVER WE LOOKED, THE NEW TECHNOLOGY HAD BECOME PART OF OUR LIVES AND MOST OF US EMBRACED IT.

NOW, WE'VE REACHED THE POINT THAT HAS BEEN STARING US IN THE FACE. THE BIG CHANGES THAT TECHNOLOGY WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE IN OUR LIVES ARE AHEAD. YOU KNOW WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!! WE'VE DONE THE REST OF IT. WE CAN MAKE THE CHANGES NECESSARY TO MAKE LIFE EVEN BETTER AND FIND THE NEW PATH TO LEARNING THE SKILLS NECESSARY "TO KEEP BODY AND SOUL TOGETHER." WE CAN EMBRACE THIS NEW WORLD AND MAKE IT OUR OWN!!!!!!!!!!!

WHEN AMERICA ACCEPTS THE TERMS OF CHANGE, OUR GREATNESS WILL AGAIN EMERGE AND ENLARGE. WE'[RE NOT OVER AS AMERICANS!!!!!!!!!! WE'RE JUST BEGINNING.

SO LOOK OUT, ENEMIES OF AMERICA, WE'RE GOING TO RIDE THIS CREST OF REVOLUTION ON OUR BOOGIE BOARDS AND DUCK THE BIG SURF CRASHERS UNTIL WE ARE ON TOP OF THE WAVE AGAIN. THEN WATCH OUR RIDE BECAUSE IT WILL BE LONG AND SURE AND SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!

AMERICA, THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE BRAVE IS HERE TO STAY!!!!!!!!!!
